Audi Team to Compete in American Le Mans Series in Long Beach and Houston

The Phaeton reflects the subtle evolution that Volkswagen’s pioneering luxury car has undergone. The new Phaeton features advanced technical and mechanical revisions. The debut of the Phaeton is at the same time the premier of its new 3. 0 litre V6 TDI engine which delivers 238 PS, a 13 PS increase the outgoing V6 TDI engine. The new common rail direct injection of the Phaeton meets the stern Euro V emissions standards ahead of the 2009 deadline. Its new front lights that feature bi-xenon bulbs designed to adapt to the direction of the front wheels to light up the road accordingly. Audi's Dtm Star Drivers at Lake Constance

The final tests before the new DTM season on April 22 was done at the Motorsportarena Oschersleben in Hockenheim since last Tuesday. Mattias Ekstrom together with the other three DTM super stars namely Lucas Luhr, Mike Rockenfeller, and Timo Scheider could have shared one of the 420 hp RS Audi 4 road cars to visit the north-east part of Germany. But instead the four Audi factory drivers have set-up their home at Lake Constance. It can be remembered that the “Lake Constance Connection” was completed by a sportscar driver Marco Werner who is a two-time Le Mans winner and a fellow countrymen of Lucas Luhr and Mattias Ekstrom who are both from Switzerland. The Thunder Bunny was designed in collaboration with Derek Jenkins, chief designer at the Volkswagen Design Center California located in Santa Monica. It is an updated version of the original that debuted together with the Concept R GTI on last year’s 2006 SEMA Show held in Las Vegas. The development of the Thunder Bunny was brought about by the frustration of Bill Neumann on Volkswagen’s unwillingness to import the GTI to Canada. It should be remembered that the GTI is one of the most celebrated hatchback in Europe unfortunately it was not made available to North American buyers.
